Comparison is the thief of joy !

comparison-is-the.jpg

Hey Lovely Mamas !

Hope you all are enjoying a great weekend !

I’ve some questions on my mind , Do you compare your children with other kids ? Do you compare your small business with others ? Do you compare your life with others ? Do you compare your blog with others? Do you compare yourself to others ?

Most of the time we are comparing ourselves to things we see on other people’s social media. But guess what? We are seeing everyone’s highlight reel and comparing it to our everyday reality. Comparison is easy, tempting, and available with social media we have at our fingertips . But life is not meant to be compared, it’s meant to be enjoyed. Comparison is the thief of joy .

Remember, Your kids are unique, they have different skills, talents, knowledge Each one is blessed differently . God has created  each one of us with unique skills and inner power . Stop comparing your children with others . Kids may feel insecure and comparison develops inferior complex and jealousy among children . Encourage them to be Unique .

Are you focusing on your weaknesses and putting yourself down? It’s easy to doubt yourself and feel that I’m nothing special. Negative self-talk generates negative energy. Even if you don’t ever say out loud what you think about yourself, people can sense it on an energetic level. Therefore, the negative self-talk will keep your dreams out of reach, hence blocking your success.Comparison is the dream killer .

Comparing ourselves to others and trying to live up to others expectations, is a thief of dreams. Every person’s journey is his and hers alone to decide what that looks like. Do what makes you happy and what makes your heart sing and invest in the discovery of what you uniquely bring to the world.

Let’s let go of the comparing and don’t let ourselves get caught in the trap of comparison. Why compare yourself to someone when you were uniquely created?Go be YOU!

Your story is unique & different and not worthy of comparison . Don’t compare your chapter one to someone else’s chapter 30 . Do you find that you compare your WORST with other’s BEST on social media? DON’T DO IT.  We all have flaws, but that’s not usually what we see online. People like to show their best. Focus on the awesome parts about you… “the good angles” … and just compare yourself only to the girl you were yesterday. That’s your competition.

“Stop comparing yourself.” Do not compare yourself to others my friends. We are all on different journeys, we all have different histories. In this world, there is a huge tendency to compare ourselves to others. Let’s spend less time comparing ourselves to others and being jealous of what we think we lack and spend more time being grateful for what we have, especially during this wonderful holiday season. You are all amazing, you are all beautiful, you are all wonderful. Focus on you, focus on your family and spend more time bringing yourself up and not down. We are all here to learn from one another. We’re all unique, which means we bring something different to the table just by being ourselves. Let’s enjoy all that uniqueness… in yourself AND in others. Happy Saturday my friends!

Love Always , Devi

How to Celebrate Yourself ?

Good Morning loves, Happy Friday!!!

Today is 1st of December . This is the beginning of new month, new things.. I would like to tell you the lessons I’ve learned last month (November 2017) November has been a great month to me in terms of my business and personal life . It gave me some clear picture of certain things which troubled me for quite sometime now . I’ve learned a very important life lesson in November . I thought lot of young mothers with toddlers need to know it. I would share it with you so that it will be of use to someone .

I’ve learned to be good to myself (learnt to celebrate myself ) . I’ve got some time off from my routine work . I used my thanksgiving holidays to pamper myself. Ha Ha Yes self – pampering is good . Treating yourself good should be the first mantra to all women/mother  . I felt so relaxed and recharged .

Self-love is self-care , Caring yourself well when you get time . Create time for yourself . I have learned to enjoy treating myself . Life is too short to not to treat yourself ! Celebrate all small win . Remember , You are worth it and deserve it !

Love your curves! Embrace your body, your spirit and all that you are! I celebrate myself…💟💟💟 Learn to embrace your natural self

Nothing makes a woman more BEAUTIFUL than the BELIEF that she already is BEAUTIFUL .

Self respect, Self-worth and self-love all start with self. Stop looking outside of yourself for your value. – Rob Liano

As most of the Women thinks, Self-Love is not only exercising  and working out and maintaining figure . A small act which keeps you relaxed and happy is self-care.Get a massage , Get a facial , Go to the local ice cream parlor and indulge in the an ice cream , Go for a new fabulous hair style ,  Go for a long walk, Meditate, Practice yoga , Eat your favorite food, Watch your favorite movie of your choice , Visit friends and family members , Dress up well and take a selfie , Play with your dog, Enjoy your ‘ME -Time’,Go  shopping ( who would say no to shopping 🙂 )  buy your favorite nail polish or lipstick , Buy handbags, Buy the new pair of shoes you have been wanting, Read your favorite book , sleep and rest well and lot more .. Do more of things makes you happy and makes your soul shine .

There is nothing wrong with a constant need to do better- to grow, try new things, to learn and wanting to become a better person. But as you grow and learn, remember to stop once in a while and tell yourself that you’ve done a good job so far. Look at how far you’ve come, don’t be too hard on yourself. Loving yourself isn’t selfish. It’s not about conceit. It’s not about thinking you’re better than someone else. It is, however, a lot more than just “accepting” yourself.

This is what I did to pamper myself .(See pictures below)

1 . I made my hair red .. New-hairdo

devi-venkatesan-image.jpg

See below , I had fun sharing pictures of my new hair style with my Facebook friends (their comments made me laugh Lol )

2. I cooked my favorite food .

I made my favorite, simple and easy onion garlic gray for lunch.

It’s so easy to prepare and tastes yummy  with white rice.My Mom used to prepare it . (Feeling Nostalgic ) This is a Indian menu .

(Pictures from my Facebook post)

devivenkatesan.png

3 . I had my favorite dishes in Plantain leaf . It’s a nostalgic feeling having food in plantain leaf . ( lot of childhood memories , those days during festive season we used to have festive food (feasting ) in plantain leaf .

I’ve learned to love me more and more now.

It’s time to close one door to open the next… Continuously moving forward with confidence and pride in who you are and where you are in your journey! …

Wishing you a new month and beautiful day filled with laughter and abundant love!!!

When was the last time you treated yourself ? What did you do? Would love to see your comments .

Love Always , Devi Venkatesan

Five Morning Routines to keep your day happy.

Hi Everyone ! Good Morning !

I believe the way we start the day is setting the tone for the entire day.

Start each day with a grateful heart .Establishing a healthy and positive morning routine will change your life. Not only does it set the mood, intention, and productivity for the rest of the day, it can transform your mindset. My morning routine allows me to feel energized and ready to begin my day. If you’re currently dreading your alarm clock, dragging yourself out of bed, and starting the day feeling unmotivated, the option to change it is in your hands. Mix up your routine!I believe in the power of habit and routines. Habits and routine allow you to stay on track and keep moving forward when things get hard. They help you to conserve your willpower so you can focus on what matters most to you. The most important part about establishing habits and routines, is being able to break them when necessary. (However, remember if you always break your routine, then it’s not a routine!). Routines provide a great deal of comfort, and even if those you have set in place are healthy (working out, eating healthy, etc.), being able to break them is just as important. For me, breaking routine is difficult, however, sometimes it’s exactly what I need (and sometimes I don’t have any choice). This week I had to travel for work, which forced me to change my workout schedule and my eating habits, and most importantly reminded me of the fact that sometimes breaking routine is really important. Sometimes life is found outside of your usual routine. One of the great parts of having a routine is being able (and okay) to break it.

Thank God/Nature for the new day . God has given you another day to live .. One more chance to make your life bright .

good- morning.jpg

In our busy lives, a morning routine can bring you peace and give the rest of your day purpose.Routines can do a lot of good to us , if we can get into the regular discipline of practicing them.

Look for good in everything

23167509_2074028015945585_8559483724975540298_n

Good Morning/Evening everyone ! Today’s Quote ..

“Train your mind and heart to see the good in everything. There is always something to be grateful for.”
— Unknown Author

Finding the positive qualities in other people is an important part of your personal development. As you get better at finding the positive aspects of other people, you become more proficient at finding the positive aspects of yourself.

I’ve  learnt to remind myself that I don’t know the other persons full story. I recently came across the saying “Don’t judge my story based on the chapter you happened to walk in on.” Even when you know someone well, you can’t assume to know what’s going on in their head or heart or life – at any given point in time.

I also find that if I am bothered by someone’s behavior, realizing that it’s probably not directed at me, but rather an expression of how they’re feeling at that point of time, helps me to see the situation from a more objective standpoint.

Seeing the good in other people is a challenging pursuit.Basic social skills like smiling and maintaining eye contact will help.Start noticing only positive intentions underlying peoples’ actions and forgive them for these actions.

When you look for the beauty in every person and situation, life becomes so much better. When you can see the good in everything, you will be genuinely happy and enjoy life so much more

How do you look for good in others ? Let’s get the conversation going in the comment section.

10 Ways to be more Likeable

lk

10 Ways to be more Likeable

We all want to be liked by others, but few of us actually know how to be more likeable. Making yourself more appealing to others is a important social skill and it requires a good understanding of some key principles of human psychology to master.

1. Smile more… that’s not so hard now is it? Smiling is contagious. The more you smile the more your mood will be elevated. It will reduce your blood pressure and it’s actually considered to be a form of exercise. Just be happy and let that happiness transfer to others. Nobody likes a party pooper!

2. Use Positive body language.Positive body language can make all the difference in a conversation.Use an enthusiastic tone, maintain eye contact etc.

3. Give genuine compliments. Make people feel good and compliment them because you truly do have something nice to say. Not because it’s part of a script or messaging formula. Elaborate on the compliment if you can.

4. Know when to open – up. Be careful to avoid sharing personal problems and confessions too quickly, as this will get you labeled a complainer. Likeable people let the other person guide when it’s the right time for them to open up.

5. Remember peoples names. Yes, many say they are horrible at this, but that’s only because you allow yourself to be. Say someone’s name three times or over and over again in your head. Find a way to remember the name by relating it to someone or something that is familiar to you.
Don’t be lazy and let your excuses kick in.

6. Have Integrity . Being genuine and honest is essential to being likeable. No one likes a fake person.

7. First impression do matter so don’t blow it. People decide if they like you within a matter of seconds of meeting you. So be open, smile, show confidence, good body language, be friendly… it’s simple stuff. Don’t be a jerk and show some interest in the person you are meeting. You’ll be fine.

8. Shared Interests . When it comes to establishing a rapport with someone, look for ways to establish common ground through shared hobbies or interests. This is when having a variety of interests and a diverse background will come in handy.

9. Ask questions. People love to talk about themselves so the more interested you are the more interested they are in talking to you. Ask real questions that help you get to know the person. Listen to listen. Don’t be thinking of the next question while they are talking, this isn’t an interview.

10. Put your hands up and step away from your phone! This is the biggest challenge for most people. When you are with your family, friends, meeting up with someone, face to face interacting with people your phone is a major distraction. It’s a great way to meet people when you are not around people. Put it away before you get the stink eye from someone.

If you want to show someone how uninterested you are in them, being on your phone will do the trick. There is a time and place for the phone, but when you’re around people you are looking to connect with, that is the wrong time. Practice being present!

Lets sum up. Likeable people are invaluable and unique. They network with ease, promote harmony in the workplace, bring out the best in everyone around them, and generally seem to have the most fun.

22472456_2051640931517627_1586043330_n (1)

Today’s Lesson/Affirmation

Take small steps everyday

I love the below proverb

The man who removes a mountain begins by carrying away small stones.” – Chinese Proverb

Today is the day to take that one small step in the right direction . Start there . Then Repeat.

The key to achieving our goals lies in the small steps we make each day.In life a long journey to a far of place  starts with a one small step forward . Great things starts with one small step. No progress if you don’t step forward . All successful person are successful today because they have taken that one first step forward some day in their lives . Keep moving everyday no matter how big or small the steps are .. just keep stepping … Small steps each day will lead you to bigger goals and dreams . Each and every big things have only very small beginnings .

“Take small steps everyday and one day you’ll get there”  – Unknown.

Remember , A big empire is not built in a day , It’s built everyday .

What are you waiting for guys ! Are you ready to take that small step today !?

…take it today and every day….  🙂

The Importance of Self-Love

plk.png

Self Love – Love Yourself

Self-love is essential to our happiness, relationships and dreams, but it can be hard to know HOW to love yourself. I’ve put together a list of Lessons below to help you get started.

If you are not going to cheer ‘you,’ who will? If you don’t love you, who will? Ask yourself these questions.

“Love yourself first and everything else falls into line. You really have to love yourself to get anything done in this world.”
– Lucille Ball

oip

 Lesson 1:

Mirror Mirror on the wall:

Start each day by telling yourself something really positive. What you tell yourself is who you are. People’s opinions of you do not matter. What is important is what you tell that person in the mirror each day, that ‘I am beautiful’, ’I am Intelligent’, Anything that will make you smile .Every great thing we celebrate started with a thought. What you focus on focuses on you.

 Lesson 2 :

Self-Examine:

Do some self-examination. Evaluate where you are in your life at the moment. Think of the mistakes you’ve made, experiences you’ve gone through. Remember the lessons learned from your mistakes and experiences.

 Lesson 3 :

Treat yourself well:

Treating your body well not only boost your self-love, but also your energy… Learn to love the skin you’re in. Be intentional about what you put into your body, not only because you want to look good but because you want to feel good.

 Lesson 4  :

Be Calm and Relax :

Take time out to calm your mind everyday . Self-love is all about connecting with yourself.Being calm and relax allows you to connect with yourself by not thinking about what bills need be paid, what’s due at work  etc. Release your negative emotional energy and re-establish inner calm and peace .Just embrace the moment.

 Lesson 5 :

Self-Compassion is important:

Be good to you.. Be kind to you. Self Kindness leads to a healthy and happier life. Being Kind to you helps you to bounce back and to live a happier life

 Lesson 6 :

 Create a fantastic Community:

Surround yourself with people who love and encourage you. Let them remind you just how amazing you are.

 Lesson 7 :

Unplug from social media:

Sit down for a few minutes on your own. No TV or distractions, just you. Think about the wonderful things that are happening in your life right now, what your big dreams are and how you can make that happen.

 Lesson 8 :

Make a ‘What’s working for you list’:

Make a list of what’s really working for you. Write it down in a paper and once you see it on paper and accept all of the positivity in your life, it will make it easier to love yourself. Go through it again and again when you feel down. Your blessings and positivity gives a fresh energy when you feel depressed.

 Lesson 9 :

Practice Self care:

Spend time for Self-pampering. Keep doing what makes you happy. It can be a facial, body massage, applying moisturizer, cooking, gardening, playing with kids, adventures, fun games, watching a movie and so on…Get enough sleep, do yoga, have good food and drink plenty of water.

 Lesson 10 :

Be thankful:

Be thankful for all your blessings and positivity in life. Embrace and love the thing that makes you different. It brings peace to your mind and soul. I Stop taking my mind and body for granted and relish how blessed I am .

 Lesson 11 :

Clean out your closet:

Getting rid of old things will make room for new things to come in to your life! Cleansing your mind can sometimes work in the form of letting go of clothes, shoes, jewelry, etc. that remind you of a certain time in your life that links to a negative vibration. Don’t chase what’s already happened; love yourself enough to know the best is yet to come.

 Lesson 12 :

No more Comparisons:

They is no one on the planet like you .Remember that you are perfect just the way you are; being in a pattern of compare and despair only makes you focus on the negative, when there’s SO much to be grateful for. The only person you should compare yourself to  is you.

 Lesson 13:

Self- Improvement:

You’ve got your own skills and talents. Remember that you’re unique, you have special unique talents within you which no one has. Embrace and love the things that make you different. You’re blessed differently. Learn to respect your uniqueness and find ways to improve your skills and talents. Try to improve yourself everyday. Be better than yesterday.

 Lesson 14:

Celebrate every day:

Celebrate your wins no matter how big or small. Pat yourself on the back and be proud of what you have achieved.

 Lesson 15 :

End all toxic relationship:

Seriously, Anyone who makes you feel anything less than amazing doesn’t deserve to be a part of your life.

 Lesson 16 :

Learn to Letgo:

We’re constantly holding on to things in our past, and it can tend to weigh heavy on our souls and even give us low self-esteem. The more blocks we clear, the more we can really live big in the area of self-love. Although we may do this as a way to protect ourselves from hurting, it’s really only holding us back from moving forward to reaching optimal self-acceptance and loving who we are.

 Lesson 17 :

Be your best version:

Often do something you are good at. Feel this is a self-esteem booster, Yes, no doubt .. This is! Get creative and express yourself in whatever way you like. Participate in a hobby or whatever you’re good at It can  be a craft, painting, music you do or love to cook then cook It’ll bring the best in you .Self-love and self-esteem go hand in hand.

 Lesson 18 :

Accept your flaws and celebrate your strengths:

Self-love does not mean dismissing your mistakes, no, it’s acknowledging them and making a deliberate choice to love you with all your flaws, insecurities, mistakes and choosing each day to do better, be better and ultimately live each day being you, doing you, fulfilling your purpose- what you were called to do on earth and ignoring the background noise. Stay focused, there are so many distractions in today’s world, don’t let it deter you from your goals and the amazing future that lies ahead of you.

How to Stay Positive in Negative situations ? Positive vs Negative .

poi

We are all born good/Positive .. Situations make us Negative..

Are you wondering how a person can be Positive in Negative situations?

A lot of people ask how to stay positive, well, staying positive isn’t always as difficult as you think. You just need to discover happiness in the smaller things in life.

First , let’s look at the definition of “positive”. Well, in its simplest format, it’s being constructive, optimistic or confident whereas negative is being unpleasant, disagreeable and gloomy.

As Helen Keller said,”Keep your face to the Sunshine ,and you cannot see a shadow”.

Learning to stay positive in life is invaluable. Here are few tips to help you stay positive in negative situations:

qw

Lesson 1: Don’t be afraid to face negativity .We all have to face it at one point of time in our lives.

Lesson 2: Control or delay your response because we get angry ,frustrated ,annoyed and immediately react based on our emotions. This will create more problem .

Lesson 3: Ignore negative people or situations. No one can hurt you with out your permission or concern Just by ignoring and not responding it  loses its power.

Lesson 4: You’re responsible for your inner peace and happiness . Don’t give the keys of your happiness to someone else.

Lesson 5: Attitude is everything . You are in charge of how you respond to what happens to you.A positive attitude can completely change our life.

Lesson 6: Learn to develop and improve your talents/skills/yourself.

Lesson 7: Exercise your mind and body .Train your mind positively.

Lesson 8: Do things frequently which makes you happy and positive, like Listening to music, eat your favorite food, Spend time with family or friends, Surround yourself with positively inspired group,Yoga,Meditation ,Cultivate learning habits,Read good books, Go for a long drive/walk/swimming, Spend more time with kids/pets, focus on hobbies, Gardening .. etc.

Lesson 9: Take a deep breath and remember what is going right in the moment.

Lesson 10 : Think positively and try not to take negative situations personally .Mind your thoughts because you’re made of it. Thoughts are powerful .

Lesson 11:Learn from disappointments. Learn from your mistakes..Forget your mistake but remember what it taught you.Yes,It’s important Remember the lesson.

Lesson 12: Remember you’re a Warrior and not Worrier .

Lesson 13 : The grass isn’t greener somewhere else it’s greener where you water it.

Lesson 14: Accept the situation or person and move on.If you don’t  keep the grudge and life just gets a whole lot more negative with grudges.

Lesson 15 : Be grateful for what you have.Just count your blessings..What you seek will seek you. You’re a magnet You attract what you focus.Focus on positive.Positive things will come to you

Lesson 16: Your present situation is not your final destination. Everything happens for a reason . Don’t let circumstances control and defeat you, use them to push you into action and change your present situation.
